Question by : Why am I not able to upload pictures from my Sony SLR camera?
I plugged in my camera to my computer, and nothing pops up. I clicked My Computer, and I cannot find my camera's name in there. I tried it on a different computer also, and it didn't work.

Avoid the problem, use a card reader.

OK, is there a memory card in the camera? If there is not, you have no pictures to download. If there is, then you need to spend the $ 10 to purchase a card reader.
If it doesn’t work as expected, you have to isolate the piece that isn’t working. Not actually as easy to do as it sounds, since it could be the port on the camera or the cable or the card that are bad.
The card reader is what you need.
Try plugging in the camera with it turned off, turn it on after it is connected to the comp.If it still doesn’t show up, than the best bet would be to buy a USB card reader for the card you are using. CF, SDHC, or Pro Duo. Also, did you download the disc that came with the camera?? This should include the necessary drivers for the computer to recognize the camera.
